The Klippit was originally invented in Sweden by an Associate Professor
at the Karolinska Institute and Hospital and physician, Ingemar Naeslund.
It was developed for use in the medical field to seal oblong plastic
sample bags and has since been adapted and used to seal flexible
packages in a variety of industries around the world.
The Klippit has a patented tongue and groove sealing strip that keeps
moisture in or out. Klippits are made of a nylon, polyamide 6.6 material by dupont
and perform well even under extreme conditions. They work at
room temperature, in boiling temperatures, in the refrigerator or
even in the freezer.
If a Klippit becomes distorted (as a result of long use around a
strange shape) you can simply drop it into boiling water and it will
return to its original form. This makes the Klippit virtually
indestructable.
Klippits are currently available in several different sizes and can be
used for a wide array of jobs. They are perfect for protecting perishable food items such as chips,
nuts, cookies, breads, poultry, meats, vegetables, etc. The larger
Klippits are also ideally suited for sealing computer and
electrical component dry packs and for sealing and preserving
medical samples.
The Klippit has proven to be as effective a method of
sealing as heat sealing but clips AND BAGS may be used and reused again and again.
This feature alone is priceless because it saves time, money and materials!
